Chairman of the Board
Ralph (Rip) Mason, III, has a vast marketing background in the MLM/direct seller space coupled with experience in the legal industry. Prior to joining LegalShield, Rip served as a Director of Neways, Inc. an MLM/direct seller with operations in 15 countries and annual sales of approximately $345 million. Rip was also a consultant and managing executive at Golden Gate Capital. He worked on the design and launch of Neways’ business tools including presentations to Neways’ field leadership in Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuota. He co-founded M2Holding, a private fund, in 2006. Prior to that, he served six years as the Vice Chairman of Jafra Cosmetics, a $420 million MLM/direct seller company, where he was a member of the three-person Office of the Chairman with oversight of all operational, sales and marketing functions. While with Jafra, he authored the company’s strategic plan, IT plan and Europe strategic plan. Rip earned a juris doctorate from Rutgers University and was a founding partner of the Mason, Taylor & Colicchio law firm with offices in New Jersey, New York and London.
From July 2011 to July 2014, Rip served as LegalShield’s Chief Executive Officer and Director. He was appointed Chairman of the Board in July 2014. Rip is a member of the New York and New Jersey Bar.
Chief Executive Officer
Jeff Bell joined LegalShield in July 2014 as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Bell is recognized as a successful and passionate marketing visionary with an extraordinary corporate leadership portfolio. Prior to joining LegalShield, Jeff was the COO of vRide, a TPG Growth portfolio company, where he oversaw the development of a consumer facing technology platform, and the installation of new ERP systems, leading to significant top-line revenue growth. Previously, Mr. Bell served as Corporate Vice President, Global Marketing, Interactive Entertainment Business (Xbox), for Microsoft Inc. While with Microsoft, Bell enjoyed tremendous success and industry recognition launching/marketing video games like “Halo 3,” Gears of War,” and “Rock Band,” to name a few. He also served as Vice President of the Chrysler and Jeep Divisions, with oversight of product strategy and marketing efforts with multi-billion dollar budgets and returns. Prior to Chrysler and Jeep, Bell served at Ford Motor Company in the United States, England, and Spain.
Mr. Bell earned a B.A. degree in history & Spanish from Kenyon College in 1984, a M.A. from Johns Hopkins in 1988, and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School in 1989.
President and Chief Commercial Officer
Alan Fearnley has 29 years of direct selling, marketing and sales experience at several major international firms including Jafra, Avon and Neways. Alan served as Chief Marketing Officer of Jafra responsible for comprehensive re-stage of brand, logo, corporate image and business planning. He was also a featured presenter at Jafra field events and served as a liaison with Jafra field leadership. Along with Rip Mason, Alan was responsible for the execution of the Neways Business Tools launch which resulted in a first month vs. prior year gain in Associate recruitment in the Japanese market since the acquisition of Neways by Golden Gate Capital. Alan is master’s degree qualified with a strong track record of growing sales and profits.
Chief Financial Officer
Steve Williamson has been with LegalShield for over 12 years. Prior to joining the company, he served as the Chief Financial Officer for Peripheral Enhancements, Inc. from April 1997 to March 2000. Steve served as Director in Charge of Banking Practice for Horne & Company, a public accounting firm, from November 1983 to April 1997. After graduating from East Central University in 1982, he began his career with the international accounting firm KPMG.
Since 2000, Steve has served as LegalShield’s Chief Financial Officer. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and is a past board member and banking committee chair of the Oklahoma Society of CPAs.
Executive Vice President of Operations
Kathy Pinson currently serves as LegalShield’s Executive Vice President of Operations, working with and supporting all Vice Presidents of LegalShield, coordinating all administrative functions within the home office and field operations. With the company since 1979, Kathy has served with distinction in a number of roles, including Controller, Board Member, Secretary/Treasurer, and Vice President of Marketing Administration.
Ms. Pinson is a Certified Public Accountant, and served more than 20 years managing the regulatory compliance division of the company.
Chief Information Officer
Joaquim Simoes served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at St. John Knits in Irvine California for almost five years. Prior to that he also served as the Chief Information Officer, South American Theater, at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and spent 16 years with Avon Products Inc. in significant domestic and global positions within the Information Technology area. Joaquim also served in general manager positions as President and General Manager of Jafra Brazil and President of ExecuTrain of Rhode Island. He also engaged in management and IT consulting during his career. Joaquim has a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) and is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
Since June 2011, Joaquim has served as LegalShield’s Chief Information Officer. He has restructured IT governance and redesigned project justification and prioritization processes to bring focus in IT towards the most relevant business initiatives.
James B. Rosseau, Sr.
EVP & President, LegalShield Business Solutions
James Rosseau has over 20 years of professional leadership experience in Finance Services and Retail industries. He joined LegalShield in 2014 and leads LegalShield Business Solutions which encompasses the affinity, broker, group, national accounts and small business divisions.
Prior to joining LegalShield, James served as the President of Allstate Affinity Solutions where he launched a number of unique innovative partnerships with companies such as United Airlines, Bass Pro Shops and Intercontinental Hotels, differentiating Allstate in the insurance industry. Prior to Allstate, James spent 10 years at JPMorgan Chase serving as a Senior Vice President at JPMorgan Chase Card Services, where he was responsible for Affinity & Co-brand partner relationships; and prior to that served as the HR Service Delivery North America Executive, responsible for the provision of HR services and a leadership role in mergers, acquisitions and divestitures; the establishment of a captive off-shoring hub in India; and numerous operational and technology transformations.
