My dad once gave a speech at a sales meeting for insurance agents. I don’t remember anything he said, EXCEPT—“plan for adversity.” My dad had suffered a heart attack that year, and residual income in the life insurance business had not been sufficient. He had experienced a tough year. That has always stuck with me, so I am happy to say that after six years in the B2B side of LegalShield, I have been able to build a steady commission income that continues to grow. It hasn’t happened overnight, and there have been numerous setbacks and disappointments along the way. But throughout the process, I have recommitted and then recommitted again to the financial opportunity that LegalShield promises. There is nothing magic about this business. Nothing happens until somebody sells something! Success in LegalShield requires hard work and a commitment to the system. It also requires the willingness to smile and say things like, “Sure, I can wait until next year to enroll your employees” when you are flat broke, or “Thanks anyway!” to the decision maker who just told you he was not interested in your services. Sales requires thick skin, a positive attitude and a belief in the vision of success that you aspire to achieve. Don’t be misled; LegalShield is not easy. Sales is not easy. Nothing worth doing is ever easy. But as Napoleon Hill once said, “Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”
