About Ryan

Ryan focuses his practice on advising and representing small businesses and their owners in all aspects. His practice also includes landlord-tenant, antitrust, and litigation. Ryan received his J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Dayton School of Law, where he was a Staff Writer for the University of Dayton Law Review and Member of the Honor Council. He received his B.A. cum laude from Ohio University, completing two majors in Finance and Business Pre-law and achieving a Certificate in Certified Financial Planning. Prior to joining Maguire, Schneider, Hassay, Ryan spent five years as a Litigation Associate at Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease, engaged in complex multidistrict litigation. Between semester in law school, he completed an internship in the corporate law department of Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus and did work for private money management and investment firm in Dayton, Ohio. He also clerked for Dyer, Garofalo, Mann & Schultz during his third year in law school.Ryan was born and raised in Columbus and grew up working for his family’s road construction company started by his grandfather more than 50 years ago. He succeeded in both the field as a foreman and the office as an administrator. Road work is a dangerous and regulated industry, encountering all manner of issues affecting small- to medium-sized businesses. This enables Ryan to provide exceptional client service at the confluence of business and the law. Ryan is known for his loyalty and thoroughness. He is an avid golfer and gun owner. In addition to serving clients in business and litigation matters, he has a history of taking pro bono cases of all types. While still in school, he represented indigent criminal defendants in Franklin County Municipal Court. Following graduation, he volunteered for the City Attorney’s Office in Whitehall, Ohio, assisting the prosecutor with the criminal case load in Mayor’s Court. Today, he regularly volunteers for the Legal Aid Society of Columbus where he advocates for indigent tenants facing housing eviction in Franklin County Municipal Court, and recently became involved with Operation Legal Help Ohio for veterans’ rights founded by former Ohio Supreme Court Justice, Evelyn Lundberg Stratton.
