Business Owner

Prior to LegalShield, I was a struggling landscaper and a part-time college student. I was working from sunup to sundown and coming home late every night, but I always knew that for things to change, I had to change. I was “time broke,” and I used that as my reason to make a change and not my excuse to stay where I was in life.

I found the time to work my part-time business because I wanted more and had big dreams. I didn’t want to just get “through” life, rather I wanted to get “from” life and experience all the amazing things it has to offer all of us, so I started looking for opportunities with my dad and spent a year researching various entrepreneurial opportunities. Then my dad and I found LegalShield, and everything changed!

We started working our business, part-time, together as a team in April 1994. By the end of 1996, we were earning a solid annual income, and it has been that way ever since. My dad passed away in February 2005, but he was able to leave a legacy, having touched so many lives and helped so many achieve their dreams. His legacy will live on for generations to come. That legacy ensures that my mom, Lola, can live her life without financial worries.

My mom has been an integral part of building our Platinum Executive Director business. My ex-wife, Amy, has been an inspiration and an invaluable part in making our business run smoothly, and I am grateful we are still business partners and lifelong friends. Along with our three amazing daughters—Alexis, Reese and Riley— we have all been able to live an incredible life.

Being able to live life on our own terms and not someone else’s is a very powerful feeling. LegalShield has taught me so much about life and having success in life. I now recognize that adversity is normal. It’s how we deal with adversity that separates the winners from the people that settle for mediocrity. Other people’s opinions of you are none of your business so don’t let the negative “dream stealers” stop you from achieving your dreams! If you buy someone else’s opinions, be prepared to buy their lifestyle. Take a good look at the people around you and make sure you are surrounded by people who encourage you and inspire you to achieve more. It’s been said that your paycheck is the average of the five people you associate with the most. My question is who are you associating with?

We want to give special thanks to the entire Home Office staff for the incredible support you provide for us in the field. A special thank you goes to the late Dave and Bev Savula as well as Cleve and Dulcie Pickens for always being there for us! Lastly, we give thanks to our TEAM for being the BEST! We love you!
