MIKE & ALLY RICHES
I was barely 23 years old. I had recently returned home from a two-year missionary trip to Africa. I had just gotten married, and neither my wife nor I had any real work experience. Like most newlywed couples, we were flat broke. In fact, I remember us eating our meals on an old nightstand and two storage boxes because we couldn’t even afford a kitchen table or chairs for our small apartment. Although we didn’t have much, we were extremely excited and grateful for this opportunity! I was the classic example of ignorance on fire! My brother Mark had sponsored me and taught me so much! And because I was so young and inexperienced, I simply did everything he told me to do! This proved to be the best thing I could have done. By my second month in the business, I had hit the Executive Director level.
We learned the importance of setting goals, and we began to stretch our dreams and expectations. Even though I wasn’t very good that first year, we had a lot of fun, and we learned a lot of lessons.
Something magical happened at the beginning of our second year. I was honored to get to speak at a meeting where our company founder, Harland Stonecipher, was present, and I think I got a little too excited up on that stage! Before I ended my speech, I blurted out, “This is my second year in the business, and I’m going to earn the $100,000 Ring!”
When I sat down, I thought to myself, “Why did I say that?” Then I remember Mr. Stonecipher repeating my commitment over and over again! To top it off, most of my team was there and had heard what I said, and that’s how they introduced me from then on, as the kid who was going to earn the Ring. I repeated that statement many times throughout the year, enough times that I really started to believe it myself. When you believe in something strongly enough, nothing or no one can keep that from becoming a reality in your life! That was true for us. In our second year in this business, at the age of 24, we earned the $100,000 Ring!
We are the parents of five incredible children, Bradley, Breanna, Brelyn, Brielle and Brinley. We are so grateful for what this company and its leadership have done for us. Moreover, we’re grateful for a loving Father in Heaven who has blessed us so abundantly! Not only have we been blessed to earn an income, but more importantly, we’ve had time to enjoy a great life together!
We look forward to this being the best year we have ever had in this amazing business!
