DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--LegalShield, one of North America’s largest providers of affordable legal plans, announced today that Attorney General Curtis T. Hill Jr. of Indiana was a keynote speaker at the company’s 2019 international annual convention, themed “A Better World.” At the convention, more than 5,000 LegalShield Associates will engage with leading expert speakers, specialized professional development training and networking opportunities.
“We welcome Attorney General Hill to our convention, his career fighting for truth and justice is inspiring, and closely aligns with our untiring pursuit of opportunity, justice, liberty and equality that every human deserves”
Mike Turpen, former Attorney General of Oklahoma and partner at LegalShield’s Oklahoma Provider Firm Riggs, Abney, Neal, Turpen, Orbison and Lewis, introduced Attorney General Hill. “My friend General Hill believes the number one function of government is the protection of its people and he is the great protector of the people of Indiana.”
The Attorney General’s speech, “Truth, Justice and The American Rule of Law,” followed his personal journey through the legal profession and highlighted the importance of independent thought and analysis of issues in business, law and life. “Our founders gave us a judicial system based in fundamental fairness and it’s our job to keep it that way,” said Attorney General Hill. “Our system of justice has not always worked perfectly and has not always lived up to our ideals. It is important we acknowledge our faults and continue to work toward a justice system that is true and fair.”
“We welcome Attorney General Hill to our convention, his career fighting for truth and justice is inspiring, and closely aligns with our untiring pursuit of opportunity, justice, liberty and equality that every human deserves,” said Jeff Bell, CEO of LegalShield. “Every day, people face significant exposure to legal issues, and it is appalling that so many walk away from their rights because they believe they can’t afford to protect themselves. We believe the color of justice should not be green and through our technology and service we help provide equal access to equal justice for all,” continued Bell.
General Hill was elected Attorney General in 2016 after receiving more votes than any elected official in Indiana history. He began his legal career in general private practice and first ran for public office in 2002, when he won his first election with nearly 80% of the vote. As the Elkhart County prosecuting attorney, Hill was known for his relentless pursuit of justice and his willingness to reopen cold case investigations to find justice and closure for victims.
Other keynote speakers at the convention include Daymond John, Founder and CEO of FUBU and star of ABC’s Shark Tank, as well as top LegalShield executives, including CEO Jeff Bell. The 2019 “A Better World” Convention will also include professional training sessions, technology/product updates and personal development. LegalShield will also honor the dedication and hard work of its associates with awards for best achievement in eight categories, including production growth and retention.
