My first goal in LegalShield was to sell 100 memberships in my first 30 days as a new associate.

I accomplished that goal and earned a trip to the company headquarters in Ada, Oklahoma, and took my 16-year-old son along with me. To sell that many memberships, I shared our membership using the three-foot rule. I told the “If You Were My Attorney” story, and my sales tools were brochures, applications and my personal success stories. That is all I needed because I knew firsthand that our membership really worked! I came from the “sell to recruit” school. I was completely sold on the value of our membership and used it numerous times before I ever decided to be an associate. I was sharing from my heart and my experiences in using the membership myself. I wanted to help others have access to equal justice too. Then one day, I met an associate who asked me, “Yvette, if you can sell 100 memberships in 30 days, how would you like to learn how to sell 100 memberships in one day?”

I said, “Show me how!” And that was how I was introduced to group marketing, and it was love at first sight.

As a single parent raising three teenagers, I made a lot of mistakes in my life which in turn affected their lives. Many of my challenges could have been avoided if I had known what my rights and options were. But I could not afford the time or the money to go to a lawyer to ask questions about what I should or shouldn’t do. With LegalShield, the quality of my life and my children’s lives dramatically improved. LegalShield helped me raise and educate my children. I no longer had to face life’s challenges alone. I could make more intelligent decisions for me and my family with the help of my provider law firm.

The most rewarding sale I ever made was when I sold myself! Just like our company founder, the late Harland Stonecipher, said, “When you sell yourself on the value of the membership, then it will be much easier to convince others of its value.” Over the years, I have earned many awards and received recognition for numerous achievements, but the most rewarding were earning the Executive Director levels, wearing the LegalShield Ring, being named National Instructor of the Year three times, being asked to assist in authoring the book Success in Group Sales, earning Remarkable Retention awards, being a Performance Club qualifier and becoming a Millionaire Club Member.

When you believe in and love what you do, you make a commitment to stay for the long-term rewards. In 2020, I will be celebrating my 34th year selling memberships. Setting goals each year has helped me achieve more than I ever thought possible when I first started. Each year just keeps getting better and more exciting with our great company. They say, “That life is full of choices, and if you don’t make a choice, the choice is made for you.” I chose to devote my efforts to LegalShield to make a difference in my family’s lives and in the lives of countless others. We are so very thankful to be able to enjoy the benefits of residual income. I count my blessings daily for this wonderful opportunity and all the many people behind the scenes at LegalShield who help us to be successful. By working together with our LegalShield family and utilizing our great teamwork approach, the best is yet to come!
