Laura was fortunate to find her passion for law early on in life. With over a decade of experience, she has worked in the areas of personal injury, medical malpractice, real estate, landlord/tenant, consumer rights, and criminal defense. Crystal Elusta received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Law. While in law school, she worked at the Cook County Public Defender’s Office as a 711 intern trying criminal cases. In law school, she also worked at the University of Illinois at Chicago student legal services providing pro bono services for students. Prior to joining Shimanovsky & Moscardini, she was a pharmacist. She concentrates her practice in the areas of consumer law, medical malpractice, and civil litigation.

Frank A. Moscardini, Jr. graduated from DePaul University in 1985 with high honors, and from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law in 1988. While in law school, Mr. Moscardini was a member of the Law Quarterly on Public Issues, and worked at the Cook County States Attorneys Office as a Section 711 intern trying civil forfeiture cases in the Narcotics Division. Before joining this firm, he was a senior associate with Donald A. Shapiro, Ltd. where his concentration was in civil litigation, complex personal injury and medical malpractice claims and real estate matters. He has been a co-managing partner of Shimanovsky & Moscardini, LLP and its LegalShield division for almost thirty years. Mr. Moscardini's experience includes a wide range of matters, including estate planning, trusts, powers of attorney, living wills. probate and contested estates, a variety of real estate matters, contract, business and entity formations, personal and business Federal and State tax issues, medical malpractice and personal injury claims. Mr. Moscardini is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association.

David L. Shimanovsky graduated from Illinois State University in 1985 and from The University of Illinois-Chicago School of Law in 1988 (Formerly The John Marshall Law School). While in law school, David worked at the Cook County State Attorney's office as a 711 intern trying criminal cases. Since his admission to The Illinois Bar in 1988, David has represented clients in various legal matters ranging from commercial litigation and medical malpractice defense to real estate transactions as well as estate planning and probate. David’s 34 years of experience encompass a wide range of matters including tort law, family law, real estate, estate planning, business law, corporate law, employment law, commercial litigation, probate law and appellate practice. David is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, and is a graduate of the Fred Lane trial Technique Course. As the co-managing partner of the Illinois provider for LegalShield since 1991, David has the unique opportunity to lead a talented group of attorneys dedicated to making a difference in people’s lives. Jeanne Moulthrop attended Northwestern University and Loyola University School of Law, and has been licensed as an attorney in Illinois since 1991. Ms. Moulthrop concentrates in landlord and tenant disputes as well as consumer issues. She has been an associate at Evans, Loewenstein, Shimanovsky & Moscardini, Ltd/Shimanovsky & Moscardini, LLP since 2005.

David is licensed to practice in the state of Illinois. His practice is concentrated in the areas of estate planning, probate, and residential real estate. He received his undergraduate degree from the James Madison College at Michigan State University in 1994 and his J.D. from The John Marshall Law School in 1997. He has been with Shimanovsky & Moscardini, LLP since 2002.

Mae Hung graduated from Chicago Kent College of Law in 1998. Ms. Hung has clerked for judges both in the Circuit Court of Cook County as well as the Illinois Appellate Court, First Division prior to joining Shimanovsky & Moscardini, LLP. Ms. Hung is a general practitioner and has been with Shimanovsky & Moscardini, LLP since 2001.

Druella Parker graduated from Carthage College in 1995 then from Valparaiso University School of Law in 1998. She began her law career right after graduating from law school working in Legal Aid programs representing clients with the housing, Social Security, collection and consumer law issues. She joined Shimanovsky & Moscardini, LLP in 2003 continuing to assist people with their housing, Social Security, collection and consumer law issues and expanded into assisting with commercial landlord tenant law and mechanics lien law. She is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association.

There are a few types of bankruptcy cases that we aren’t accepting right now: 1) Cases that were filed pro se by the client and they want an attorney to step in- these are typically just too much of a mess for us. 2) Chapter 11 cases – I have yet to speak with a mbr (last 10 years) who is actually qualified to file ch 11. Super expensive cases and meant for larger businesses.

Jeffrey G. Mashni graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1997 and from The John Marshall Law School in 2001. Prior to joining Shimanovsky & Moscardini, LLP, he was an associate attorney with the law firm of Carden & Tracy, concentrating his practice in the area of nursing home defense. Earlier in his career, Jeffrey maintained his own law firm concentrating in plaintiffs’ personal injury and medical malpractice litigation. Jeffrey enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two children. He is also a Texas Hold’em poker enthusiast and enjoys playing in poker tournaments.

Estela is an experienced bilingual attorney. She is currently licensed to practice in Illinois and has been an associate attorney for Shimanovsky & Moscardini, LLP since 2015. She provides advise and counsel to LegalShield members on a daily basis.

Jerome is currently licensed to practice in Illinois. He has been an associate with the firm since 2006 and provides advice and counsel to LegalShield members on a daily basis.

Angela R. Manalli graduated from Lawrence University in 2000. She obtained her law degree from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2005. She concentrates her practice on civil litigation, estate planning, family law and contract law. Other than a brief absence, Angela has been with Shimanovsky & Moscardini LLP since 2007. Angela is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association.

Brian Elman graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 2003 with degrees in History & Political Science. Mr. Elman received his law degree from John Marshall Law School in 2006 and specializes in the following areas of law: Estate Planning, Intellectual Property, Litigation, Probate and Real Estate. Mr. Elman has been servicing LegalShield clients since 2006.

Kateryna is a U.S. and international Attorney at Law with extensive experience in various aspects of law, with concentrations in Business Law, Intellectual Property Law, International Law, Corporate Law, Arbitration, Administrative Law, Immigration Law, and IT Law. Kateryna has been admitted to practice in the following jurisdictions: Admitted to practice law in Illinois since 2019 and is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association; Admitted to practice law in the State of California since 2021; Admitted to practice law in Ukraine since 2011; Kateryna’s legal experience extends across many practice areas, from general contract law matters to complex, international dispute resolution and immigration legal matters. She has worked with businesses, organizations, and individuals based in the United States and the European Union, with operations around the world, and has comprehensive legal experience. Kateryna is also multilingual with fluencies in English, Russian and Ukrainian.

Margaret Christy graduated from Valparaiso University School of Law in 2014. Ms. Christy has practiced general corporate and individual and corporate tax law. Ms. Christy has also practiced contract law and has been an associate at Shimanovsky & Moscardini, LLP since 2023. Fabiola Alvarez graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Law in 2023. While in law school, Ms. Alvarez participated in UIC Law’s Pro Bono Litigation Clinic as a licensed 711 student attorney. Ms. Alvarez represented clients in family law matters, criminal record relief, and legal name changes. Prior to joining Shimanovsky & Moscardini, Ms. Alvarez was an associate attorney at Bielski Chapman, concentrating on managing probate estates.

Staff Attorney Kyle Robert Johnson (He/Him/His) is an attorney with a passion for helping people in their times of need. Drawing on his experience as a former strength and conditioning coach, Mr. Johnson brings balance to his clients lives by looking at their problems holistically and working out the root causes of their issues. Mr. Johnson has working experience with government oversight, police misconduct, civil rights, prisoner’s rights, landlord-tenant law, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and public benefits including Section 8 housing vouchers and Social Security Disability Insurance.

Jessica Butterfield graduated cum laude from The John Marshall Law School in 2007. She was a member of The John Marshall Law Review and had an article published. As a general practitioner, Ms. Butterfield has experience in employment law, workers' compensation, estate planning, and civil litigation. She has served pro bono as a guardian ad litem for the Circuit Court of Cook County through Chicago Volunteer Legal Services. Ms. Butterfield also has experience in the medical field as an EMT-Paramedic and Certified Cardiac Technician.
